Terms of service

Last updated: August 1, 2026

1. What Lumie is

Lumie is an app and website that provide an animated AI companion for focus, planning, and reflection. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

2. What Lumie is not

Lumie is not a medical device, therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or crisis service, and it is not a substitute for professional care. Content generated by Lumie — conversations, journals, intentions — is creative, story-based output and may be inaccurate. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.

3. Your account

4. Acceptable use

5. Early days

Lumie is a young product and evolves quickly — features may change or be replaced as it grows. Lumie is currently free; if paid plans are introduced, pricing will be published before any billing begins.

6. Your content

Your intentions, conversations, and journals are yours. You grant us the limited license needed to store and process them to operate the service (for example, generating your journal). We don't use them for advertising.

7. Our content

Lumie's characters, world, artwork, names, and software are ours (or our licensors'). Don't reuse them commercially without permission.

8. Warranty and liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (while Lumie is free: zero).

9. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or on this page. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using Lumie at any time.
